Dear Members,
“Restructure and Refresh NCAVA” was the focus of the board summit for 2023. As with other organizations, we have experienced some uncertainties regarding the future of NCAVA. During these post-pandemic times, membership and certification numbers have fallen, prices have risen while budgets have not, and our local affiliate organizations are experiencing the same hardships. So how do we change this, and support one another? As Barack Obama stated, “If you’re walking down the right path and you’re willing to keep walking, eventually you’ll make progress.” We are on that path to elevate NCAVA and advanced volunteer administrators.
The board discussed ideas for restructuring the organization to meet these challenges. We will have more educational opportunities such as workshops and moving from a three-day annual conference to a one-day conference held twice a year. Feature a Hot topic quarterly so members and soon-to-be members can join virtually. Provide a platform for members to chat with one another regarding issues they may be facing. Giving members more access to educational resources.
Those are just a few of the transformations that we are implementing in 2023-2024. I am optimistic about the future of this organization. We can do this if we work together. Let’s stay informed, stay tuned in, and refresh NCAVA!
Best Regards,
Vanessa Miller
President
